Delta robot - 4 degrees of freedom 1000 mm

igus offers Delta robots for a wide variety of tasks. The 4-axis Delta LCA-DR1000-04 was specially developed for fast pick & place tasks and is optionally available with a suitable controller. With a reach of 1,000 mm and a pick rate of 96 picks/minute, it sets new standards for cost-effective automation. The combination of precision and speed makes this robot ideal for end-of-line applications. Thanks to the additional degree of freedom, components can not only be gripped but also oriented.

Use your own controller

If you want to use your own (robot) controller, this is also no problem. Alternatively, it is also possible to operate each axis individually with a controller. For example with our igus® dryve D1 motor controller. With this control architecture, you need one motor controller per linear axis or motor and an additional master controller, which controls the coordination of the movement. You must then program the inverse kinematics for the delta robot yourself in your development environment.
The motor controllers are not part of the article and can be obtained from us as an option. A master controller is not currently offered by igus.

More flexibility with additional axis

Integrating a fourth axis into a Delta robot offers numerous benefits that significantly enhance the robot's efficiency and flexibility:

  1. Extended Mobility: With an additional rotational axis, the robot can perform more complex movements and precisely position objects at various angles.

  2. Versatility: The additional axis allows the robot to undertake a wider range of tasks, from machining to inspection, making it applicable in various industries.

  3. Optimized Cycle Times: The extended range of motion leads to faster and more efficient workflows, increasing productivity.

  4. Improved Ergonomics: The fourth axis facilitates the handling of objects in hard-to-reach areas, improving the ergonomics of work processes.

These advantages make Delta robots with a fourth axis a valuable addition to modern production environments.
