FAIRINO FR5 Collaborative Robot
The FAIRINO FR5 combines high precision with flexible integration: a 5 kg payload, a 922 mm reach and a repeatability of ±0.02 mm make this 6-axis cobot a versatile solution for pick-and-place, assembly, machine tending, quality inspection, gluing and dispensing. Programmes can be easily created via the web interface or the teach pendant and adapted to new processes. You can choose between the standard IP54 model, available in white or black, and the robust IP65 version in white for environments with increased exposure to dust or moisture.

Technical Highlights of the FAIRINO FR5 IP65
The FAIRINO FR5 IP65 is a versatile 6-axis collaborative robot designed for precise automation tasks in demanding production environments. With a rated payload of 5 kg, a reach of 922 mm, a repeatability of ±0.02 mm, and a TCP speed of up to 1 m/s, it supports fast and reproducible processes. The robot arm, weighing approximately 22 kg, can be mounted in any orientation. Its IP65 protection rating provides enhanced resistance against dust and water, thereby expanding its application possibilities in challenging industrial environments. As a result, the FR5 IP65 combines a generous working range, high precision, and a robust design into a flexible automation platform that can be easily integrated into existing production systems.

What Applications Is the FAIRINO FR5 IP65 Suitable For?
The FAIRINO FR5 IP65 is suitable for pick-and-place operations, machine tending, assembly, screwdriving, quality inspection, as well as adhesive dispensing and dosing applications. Its 922 mm reach enables it to service larger work areas or multiple positions within a cell. The repeatability of ±0.02 mm supports consistently high process quality. Thanks to its IP65 protection rating, the robot is particularly well suited for production environments with dust, moisture, or compatible cleaning processes. For applications involving a combined payload of more than 5 kg, including tooling and workpiece, a larger working envelope, aggressive media, or high process forces, technical suitability should be evaluated separately. This ensures that processes can be automated reliably and predictably.

Setting Up and Commissioning the FAIRINO FR5 IP65
The FAIRINO FR5 IP65 can be configured via a browser-based web interface or a 10.1-inch teach pendant. Motions can be taught directly on the robot and combined into automated workflows within the graphical user interface. SDKs for C#, C++, Python, ROS, and ROS 2 are available for customized applications. TCP/IP, Modbus TCP, and Modbus RTU, as well as digital and analog inputs and outputs, support the integration of external devices. PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, and CC-Link are available as optional communication interfaces. To ensure that the overall system maintains its intended level of protection, the end effector, connectors, and cables must also be selected according to the environmental conditions. This keeps the solution open to future expansions.

Is the FAIRINO FR5 IP65 the Right Choice for Your Application?
The FAIRINO FR5 IP65 is a suitable choice for companies that want to automate light to medium-weight components with precision while requiring enhanced protection against dust and water. Machine builders, system integrators, and manufacturing companies benefit from its 5 kg payload, 922 mm reach, ±0.02 mm repeatability, and open communication interfaces. Key factors for system design include the total payload, center of gravity, working envelope, cycle time, and the actual exposure to process media. IP65 does not imply resistance to every cleaning agent or process medium. Collaborative operation must be assessed for the complete application and requires a risk assessment covering the robot, end effector, workpiece, and process. This provides greater planning reliability.

With RBTX from a Robot to a Complete Automation Solution
Through the RBTX Marketplace, the FAIRINO FR5 IP65 can be combined with suitable grippers, vacuum systems, cameras, force sensors, safety technology, feeding systems, and other accessories. This enables the creation of a coordinated solution for handling, assembly, inspection, screwdriving, dispensing, or machine tending applications in more demanding environments. Alternatively, the robot can be configured as part of a complete robotic cell including a base frame, control system, and safety concept. To ensure a robust overall system, the end effector, connectors, and cables should also be suitable for the environmental conditions. RBTX supports the selection of compatible components and the application-specific system configuration. The result is a robust and future-proof automation solution.
